The Shift
Black is losing its default position, and not to brights. It is losing it to depth: chocolate, burgundy, deep olive, ink blue. These are colours that behave like neutrals in a wardrobe but carry considerably more feeling than one.
Alongside them sits a soft register — butter, oat, dusty sage — that softens the whole without turning pastel.

It also extends product life. Tonal colours date more slowly than trend brights, which matters to a customer buying less and keeping longer.
